All Trades Abseiling is one of Sydney's longest-established rope access companies. We've been working at height across Sydney since 1991 — older than most of our competitors' businesses, and older than the SafeWork NSW rope access guidelines themselves. We're licensed tradesmen who happen to abseil for a living, not climbers who picked up a paint brush.
The business began in 1991 under the name Sydney High Glass, focused on high rise window cleaning at a time when industrial rope access was a niche industry in Australia. When the WorkCover Authority of NSW (now SafeWork NSW) issued its 1993 Guidelines for Abseil-Based Window Cleaning Systems — the first formal rope access standard in NSW — our equipment, procedures and training were already compliant.
Through the 1990s and 2000s, demand grew for rope access to do more than just window cleaning. Strata committees and building owners wanted a faster, cheaper alternative to scaffolding for repairs and maintenance. We drew on our trade backgrounds to expand into:
In the early 2000s we changed our name to All Trades Abseiling to reflect what we'd become — a building trades business that uses rope access, not a window cleaning business that does occasional repairs.
Today we hold NSW Licence 123517C and our technicians hold current industrial rope access certifications.
It's a question we get on nearly every job: "Do you abseil as a sport?" The answer is no. We're licensed tradesmen who learnt industrial rope access because we saw a better way to deliver building work at height. Plenty of competitors will talk up their climbing experience, but they forget the customer is paying for trade skills. We never forget we're tradesmen first.
That distinction matters when it's your building. You don't want a climber who's learning concrete repair on the job. You want a tradesman who knows how to repair concrete properly, and who happens to be safer on a rope than most.
Safety is the foundation of how we operate. Every job is carried out under SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements), our equipment is inspected and tested on a documented schedule, our technicians attend annual refresher training, and we work in full compliance with WHS legislation and SafeWork NSW requirements.
